Adaptation

Growing up Jim’s brother always said that he was rotten to the core, but he was the baby of the family and got by with more. His mom would always save him cause he was her baby. But time never stands still and soon Jim was moving out of the house. Moving from place to place. Turning twenty-one is Cincinnati; Jim called home and said “Your boy is now a Man.”

And she replied “I don’t care if your 80, you’ll always be my baby” Jim smiled, he was a mommas boy. But one day Jim received a call that would change his life forever. He knew his mother was sick, but not deathly sick. The phone call he got said that his mother was dying and that she needed to see her baby.

Jim immediately got in the car and started driving home to Alabama. He knew that he didn’t have much time and surpassed the speed limit by far. Memories flooded through his mind, already missing his mom. The weather seemed to match his emotions and his tears synced with the rain outside. He wanted his mom to see her baby.

When he arrived he thought that she was sleeping. But all the tears running down the faces of his family told a different story. Jim’s heart shattered as he realized that he arrived too late. Jim never got to say goodbye.

Plot: This is a story of a man who is the baby of the family, who finds out that his mother is severely ill, and will probably not make it through the night. He's out of town, but he rushes home to be by her side, only to arrive too late.

Conflict:

"The baby" of the family doesnt live at home, and gets a call saying that his mother is dying and that he needs to come home. His family tells him that is mother needs to see him. He drives all the way home, speeding the whole entire time. But even then, he still arrives too late. He never gets to say goodbye.

Setting:

At first it shows that he moves around all the time. It shows that he never stays in one place for a long while. It says "I got a call in Alabama, said come on home to Louisiana" cause thats is where his mom is at.

Four Fire Alarm

Walt is a middle aged man, living the life of a "retired fireman." But he really wasnt "retired" he got fired from saving the lives of the people of his community. it was never his intention to get fired, he loved his job. but that was before he made the big mistake of not obeying orders. Thats where he finds himself staring at a painting in this museum. And all the memories come flooding back to him. he pictures himself in the firefighter suit, he once knew to well. He liked this painting because it was something he never saw. the whole picture of the fire taking over. He was always in the fire saving lives, never outside just watching.... and thats what he did with this picture, he stood staring and just watching....

My name is Caroline Carmichel, my mother always said that i was named after Michelangel. But i think she just made that up to made me feel like im worth something. I lived in Italy and Grecce for the first thirteen years of my life. Now i find myself after the long 25 years of my life, stranded in the depths of Ohio.
